Why do we seek their counsel?

Surely it doesn't get much worse than finding probing (the first part) and mildy amusing (the second part) questions for Sam Alito from Jeff Greenfield? Maybe I'm just desperate. After the lousy job the Democrats did asking questions where there was some reasonable expectation of actually learning something, I guess this is what's left.

Greenfield schools the loyal opposition during the hearings and still we get nothing.
