Paging Alanis Morissette
You really couldn't write this stuff. You would think someone would edit his comments for eye-popping irony before he made them, but:
WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush urged Iraqis on Tuesday to put aside political, religious and sectarian differences to form a government of national unity, warning that the country "risks sliding back into tyranny" if it dwells on old grievances.
The President, in case anyone missed the glaring parallels in the first comment, went on to say:
"Compromise and consensus and power-sharing are the only path to national unity and lasting democracy," Bush said in a speech to a gathering of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
