What a Difference Two Days Make???
As noted here on Monday, NBC's First Read had a rather downbeat view of W's position relative to the...circumstances facing his administration and his party.
They appear much relieved today:
First glance
You know President Bush is getting his groove back when:-- his poll numbers have been inching upward-- his second choice to fill Sandra Day O’Connor’s Supreme Court seat (the now-forgotten Harriet Miers was his first) seems headed towards Senate approval-- he’s speaking constantly (and combatively) on the subject the White House still considers a strength: national security-- GOP members of Congress, even those in blue areas, feel comfortable appearing with him.
Apparently I've been asleep for the last two days (along with the rest of the media, bloggers, Congress, the public) because that's one hell of a sea change for a President with consistent sub 50% approval ratings.
